To deeply promote the collaborative development of local industries and higher education, Wenzhou University of Technology (WZUT), in conjunction with the Management Committee of Wenzhou Bay New Area and the People's Government of Longwan District, jointly hosted the "Path of Application" Intelligent Equipment Industry Chain Co-construction Event on December 5, 2025. The Wenzhou Fastener Industry Association was invited to attend as a key regional industry organization. Notably, Ji Shaofeng, President of the Association, was appointed as an Industry Mentor for WZUT during the event, marking a substantive step forward in school-association cooperation and industry-education integration.

During the event, Chen Yongguang, Party Secretary of Wenzhou University of Technology, outlined the university's new approach to serving local development. He stated that the college is actively breaking through traditional frameworks of school-local cooperation. It is committed to enhancing its alignment with the local industrial structure, the integration of research directions, participation in innovation activities, and the contribution of graduates to local employment. The ultimate goal is to contribute the university's wisdom and strength to the upgrading of the intelligent equipment industry and the construction of the regional innovation system in Wenzhou Bay New Area and Longwan District.

To support this objective, the college announced the implementation of a systematic reform integrating "Education, Science, and Talent," focusing on four major developmental directions:

Building a "Dual-Qualified" teaching team within three years, where 50% of the faculty will be sourced from enterprises or possess extensive practical enterprise experience.
Constructing four major academic clusters—including Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Manufacturing—that are closely aligned with Wenzhou's core industries.
Advancing curriculum and teaching content reforms based on real industry chain demands, achieving precise alignment between talent cultivation and industrial needs by mapping out "Professional Blueprints."
Innovating diversified talent cultivation models such as "2+2" and "3+1," while establishing three parallel pathways—"Advanced Studies Track," "Engineering Track," and "Entrepreneurship Track"—to meet the diverse developmental needs of students.

A grand plaque awarding and appointment ceremony was held during the event. Wenzhou University of Technology was awarded the title of "Vice Chairman Unit of the Wenzhou Bay New Area and Longwan District Industrial Innovation Alliance." Concurrently, Professor Chen Fengjun was appointed as the Deputy Chain Master of the Intelligent Equipment Industry Chain. Five representatives from the government and key industries were appointed as Industry Mentors for the college, including Ye Weiqiang (Director of Longwan District Economy and Information Bureau), Wu Mingfeng (Director of Wenzhou Bay New Area Science, Technology and Talent Bureau), Ji Shaofeng (President of Wenzhou Fastener Industry Association), Xiang Guanghui (President of Wenzhou Food and Pharmaceutical Machinery Industry Association), and Yang Liancheng (President of Longwan District Valve Industry Association).

Furthermore, Budweiser (Wenzhou) Beer Co., Ltd. and Hengfengtai Precision Machinery Co., Ltd. respectively appointed the university's teachers, Chen Haishao and Dr. Wang Xin, as corporate "Technology Vice Presidents." Meanwhile, the Wenzhou Fastener Industry Association and two other industry associations respectively appointed Associate Professor Li Meiqin, Dr. Liu Wankun, and Dr. Bai Fan as Deputy Secretaries-General of the associations, creating a tightly interwoven, bidirectional connection.

This co-construction event serves as a key initiative to implement Wenzhou City's deployment of the "5+5+N" modern industrial system, align with the college's "136" development strategy, and execute the "Major Expansion of Local Services" action. It aims to build an efficient collaboration platform for government, industry, academia, and research, driving collaborative innovation and deep integration within the intelligent equipment industry chain. Through this profound school-local partnership, it not only empowers regional enterprises with precise university R&D capabilities to accurately respond to and solve real industrial technical demands but also leverages the university's educational strengths to supply and cultivate solid professional talent for high-quality industrial development. This marks the entry of school-local co-construction into a comprehensive, multi-dimensional new stage, gradually establishing a fresh pattern of industrial development and talent cultivation characterized by "Government Guidance, University Empowerment, Enterprise Leadership, and Industry Linkage."
