On December 6, 2025, a profound collaboration uniting academic wisdom with industrial practice officially commenced. A delegation of EMBA faculty and students from the School of Economics and Management at Dalian University of Technology (DUT), led by Professor Su Jingqin, visited Bossard Fastening (China) Co., Ltd. Together, they witnessed the official unveiling of the "DUT School of Economics and Management Industry-Education Integration Practice Base" and successfully completed the inaugural practical course at the facility. This event marks a new chapter in collaborative talent development and shaping the future of the industry together.
At 9:28 AM, the unveiling ceremony was held at the Bossard Shanghai headquarters. Professor Su Jingqin officially presented the "Industry-Education Integration Practice Base" plaque to Ms. Fan Xiaona, HR & Admin Director at Bossard. This ceremony not only symbolizes the formalization of the partnership but also embodies a shared commitment to deeply integrating the education, talent, industry, and innovation chains to cultivate new industry professionals who meet the demands of the era.
Following the ceremony, the delegation embarked on an exploration journey themed around "Smart Fastening" within Bossard's core operational sites. The tour began with an overview of Bossard's nearly 200-year global history, followed by a visit to the Smart Factory showroom. Faculty and students observed how Bossard achieves precise and efficient distribution of B and C-class materials through digital logistics systems, and experienced how the IoT-integrated "Smart Factory Logistics" system facilitates intelligent management across various scenarios. In the smart assembly showcase, the deep integration of digital work instructions with automation and Poka-Yoke concepts left a profound impression by ensuring precision in every process.
Next, the group visited the Bossard Engineering Technology Lab—which integrates selection analysis, testing validation, and process optimization—as well as the advanced Quality Lab accredited with ISO/IEC 17025. This provided deep insight into Bossard's rigorous system for ensuring consistent fastener quality. Finally, the tour concluded at the high-precision CNC machining workshop, capable of rapid response to customized needs, and the efficiently operating automated high-bay warehouse. Throughout the visit, the "Hidden Productivity" demonstrated by Bossard—offering systematic solutions beyond the product itself—sparked keen interest and lively discussion among the faculty and students.
The intuitive insights from the tour ignited intellectual sparks during the subsequent seminar. Centered on the core topic of "Bossard's Business Model," the delegation raised profound questions and shared unique insights from multiple dimensions, including corporate strategic positioning, industrial value chain innovation, and service digital transformation, all based on their on-site observations. The Bossard team shared practical explorations and strategic thoughts on extending value services, digitalizing smart factory construction, and creating hidden value for clients through engineering technical services. This dialogue was not only a deep analysis of a successful business case but also a vivid collision and fusion of cutting-edge management theory with vibrant industrial practice.
At the conclusion of the event, Mr. Guan Xuefeng, VP of Supply Chain for Bossard Asia Pacific, extended his sincere gratitude to the DUT faculty, students, and all colleagues. In his closing remarks, he stated: "Establishing this practice base together is a brand new starting point for Bossard to deepen industry-education integration, and a beautiful prologue to our shared future. Let us carry our common dreams, gather our strength, and forge ahead to cultivate more pillars of talent, foster fruitful results in industry-academia-research integration, and create a win-win tomorrow through school-enterprise collaboration!"
Looking ahead, Bossard is committed to continuously opening up industrial application scenarios and actively promoting substantive cooperation with Dalian University of Technology in areas such as student internships, joint development of frontier business cases, and research on key industrial technologies. Bossard firmly believes that only by working closely with academic and industrial partners can we continuously drive innovation and progress in fastening technology, thereby better empowering China's intelligent manufacturing and jointly embracing future challenges and opportunities.
