Vossloh Wins Major China High-Speed Rail Contract
Vossloh Group, a leading German rail technology company, has announced that its Chinese subsidiary, Vossloh Fastening Systems (China) Co., Ltd., has secured a key contract. Under the agreement, the company will supply a complete range of professional track fastening system solutions for specific sections of the new Xining-Chengdu high-speed railway, with a total order value nearing €20 million. The relevant systems are scheduled to be delivered and put into operation by 2027.
This order further solidifies Vossloh's position as a long-term, reliable partner in China's high-speed rail network. Oliver Schuster, CEO of the Group, commented: "China owns and continues to expand the world's largest and most technologically advanced high-speed rail network, setting new benchmarks for the global railway industry. We are proud to continuously participate in this grand endeavor and contribute as a trusted partner to the development of sustainable, modern transportation."
The Xining-Chengdu high-speed railway is a vital artery connecting Xining, the capital of Qinghai Province, with Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province. The newly constructed section must traverse areas with significant altitude differences and complex, variable mountainous terrain, presenting immense engineering challenges and extremely high technical requirements. The completion of this line will not only greatly promote integration and coordinated development between these two major western economic hubs but also bring significant efficiency improvements and logistical advantages to passenger and freight transport in geographically demanding regions.
With nearly two decades of deep engagement in the Chinese market, Vossloh's subsidiary in Kunshan, Jiangsu, now employs around 130 people and has become one of the primary suppliers in China's track fixation systems market. To date, China's total operational high-speed rail mileage has surpassed 50,000 kilometers. According to national planning projections, this network is expected to expand to over 70,000 kilometers by mid-century. The continuous and stable construction and development of China's rail transit infrastructure provide long-term and vast market opportunities for international technology leaders like Vossloh.
